Josef Aujezdský

Josef obtained his Master’s degree in Law from the Law Faculty of Charles University and he is one of the authors of the eAdvokacie system which allows us to provide legal services via the internet. Josef is registered on the roll of lawyers of the Czech Bar Association and is one of the founding partners of Mašek, Kočí, Aujezdský. Josef specialises in intellectual property law (in particular the rights of an author, trademark law, law governing domain names and the protection of databases), commercial obligations (including unfair competition) and other legal aspects of trading on the internet, including matters containing an international element or relating to the application of EU law. Josef often comments on these matters in the media.

Josef’s work for Mašek, Kočí, Aujezdský has included drafting complex documentation for the distribution of software, for the running of online shops, for organising consumer competitions and for providing services within the information society (including drafting terms of business for a significant range of website services and other projects). Josef has represented clients in a number of cases relating to trademarks, unfair competition on the internet or in domain names disputes. Josef writes and publishes articles on the legal aspects of computer programmes (including issues relating to Open Source and freeware), as well as the legal aspects of trading on the internet.
